FOUR people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 47-year-old woman in Alton.

The arrests follow the discovery of the body at an address in Aldersey Fields in Alton on Sunday, October 10.

All four are men. They are aged 51, 46, 46 and 31. All of them remain in custody.

According to Hampshire Police, they were called to a property in Aldersey Fields at 1.52pm on Sunday, October 10.

A postmortem on Monday, October 11, found that the woman died from a fatal stab wound.

The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, according to police. However, formal identification of the victim has yet to take place.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “A 46-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, both from Alton, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at this time.

“Two others, a 46-year-old man and a 51-one-year-old man, were also previously arrested on suspicion of murder. They are also both still in custody.
