PEOPLE travelling by train on the Basingstoke-bound line between Andover and Whitchurch this morning may face difficulty due to a fallen tree.

South Western Railway (SWR) has confirmed this morning (Monday, September 27) that services between Andover and Whitchurch could be subject to cancellation or delays due to a fallen tree which is blocking the track.

A SWR spokesperson said: "We have been informed that there is a tree blocking the railway between Andover and Whitchurch.

"This means that trains are currently unable to run on the Basingstoke bound line. Our specialist teams are en-route to clear the tree from the track.
