Basingstoke Street Gang

A TEENAGER who was banned from meeting other members of his gang will face a curfew after he admitted breaching the court order.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was the subject of a gang injunction issues by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court in March.

It banned him and other members of the Basingstoke Street Gang from meeting each other.

However, the court heard on Friday that the 17-year-old was found with another member of the gang at the Apollo Hotel in July.

After admitting the breach, the boy was given a one month curfew between 8pm and 4am, which will be monitored by an electronic tag.

Penalty for stealing fuel

A MAN who stole fuel on two separate occasions has been ordered to pay compensation.

Daniel Richard John Hines, of Winklebury Centre, was charged with two counts of theft after two separate incidents in 2018.

On the first occasion, he was found stealing just over £60 of unleaded fuel from a BP station in Towcester.

Just over a week later, he made off without paying after filling up with just over £57 of unleaded fuel.

Appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, the 37-year-old was ordered to pay a total of £115 in compensation.

Fourteen-year-old boys charged with driving a car

TWO fourteen-year-old boys have been accused of driving a car in Micheldever.

The boys, from Birmingham and Worcestershire, were allegedly behind the wheel of the BMW 520 on London Road on February 14.

They have been charged with driving a motor vehicle without a licence.

The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been released on unconditional bail, and will next appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on September 16.

Drug driving on M3

A LONDON man will stand trial accused of drug driving on the M3.

Abdulla Ali Al-Diraa, of Sudbury Court Drive, has been charged with driving a grey BMW 330 whilst over the drug-drive limit for THC, a breakdown product of cannabis.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court heard last week that the offence occurred on the northbound carriageway of the M3 at Basingstoke, on June 2, 2020.

He pleaded not guilty at a hearing earlier this year.

Al-Diraa will appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on April 13, 2022, for the trial.

Penalty for possessing cannabis

A BASINGSTOKE man has admitted possessing cannabis.

Daniel Deans, of Vyne Road, was in possession of the Class B drugs in the town on July 6, 2020.

He had initially denied the charge, before changing his plea to guilty last week.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, he was fined £180.

The 27-year-old was further ordered to pay costs of £200, and a victim surcharge of £34.

Man charged for harassing woman in Basingstoke

A BASINGSTOKE man has been charged with harassing a woman in Basingstoke.

Michael Daniel March, of Dartmouth Way, has been charged with two public order offences.

It is alleged that he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with the intent to cause the woman harassment, alarm or distress on May 20 and 25.

Appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, March denied both charges.

He has been released on conditional bail pending the trial at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on April 6, 2022.
