THE social calendar for September is looking hopeful as Hampshire residents readjust to life without restrictions.

As the summer season draws to a close, festivals, beach days and strawberry picking are off the agenda.

But fear not as there are plenty of exciting autumn activities to look forward to this month.

Across Hampshire there are tons of events taking place, here we have rounded up some of our favourites.

Southampton Boat show

Returning to the shores of the Solent for an entire week, visitors will be able to experience life on the water at Europe’s largest purpose-built marina.

The 52nd edition of the show sees the addition of brand new zones tailored to water sports, dinghies and day boats.

There will be a host of water sports to try including paddleboarding, kayaking and dinghy sailing - all ‘absolutely free’.

The event which takes place at Mayflower Park will run from Friday, September 10 until Sunday, September 19.

And according to the organiser, British Marine, there will be much more than boats to see.

Also on offer will be entertainment, celebrity guests, interactive attractions and delicious food and drink.

Hampshire Country Sports Day

The ever-popular Hampshire Country Sports Day returns to Bereleigh Estate, East Meon, on Sunday  September 12, with a wide range of activities, shopping, demos and 'have a go' activities for anyone who loves the countryside.

After a two-year gap, Jonathan Marshall returns to the show and will be demonstrating his spectacular horseback falconry skills.

Chris Green the Countryman will give talks on wildfowling and the history of the shotgun whilst Gilly Bate and Beaky Allesch–Taylor will give a fishing demo.

There will be large variety of food and drink stands, including pizza, hog roast, crepes, Cornish pasties, cider, beer, mead, cream teas, donuts and ice cream. There will also be many stands selling the best crafts, leisure, sporting goods, clothing and gifts, from sheepskins, to jewellery, to fishing rods, and much more.

Exit 6 Film Festival

Exit 6 Film Festival is an international film festival taking place annually in Basingstoke, UK. The festival is a celebration of independent short film from around the world, providing a platform for filmmakers to showcase and discuss their work, directly connecting with the audience.

It’s a film festival by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

The festival gives each filmmaker the opportunity to take part in a Q&A after the screening of their film. The programme also includes industry masterclasses, networking sessions, one-to-one surgeries and panel discussions.

The physical event will take place on September 25 whilst online access starts on September 18 until September 26.
