A HISTORIC property is opening its grounds this August Bank Holiday weekend for a summer market.
On Sunday and Monday, visitors to Basing House in Old Basing can browse craft and gift stalls in the Tudor Great Barn and Court Yard, as well as join in with traditional fete competitions and meet animals from Mills Farm Cottage.
Also on Monday, a live sax band at will be entertaining visitors at the historic site, operated by Hampshire Cultural Trust.
From being one of the largest private house in Tudor England to suffering at the hands of Oliver Cromwell during the English Civil War, Basing House has a long and fascinating history.
Visitors can learn all about the site at the visitor centre and museum where artefacts found on the site help to illustrate the full story of the house.
Tickets are £2.50 per person - standard admission charges do not apply for this event.
