• A BASINGSTOKE man has admitted assaulting a police officer in London.

Mateusz Dobosz, of Normanton Road, admitted assaulting PC Jack Richards on Lupus Street in the Pimlico area of the capital on November 16, 2020.

The 22-year-old was also charged with assaulting another man on the same day at the same time, but it was discontinued with no plea entered when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

Dobosz has been released on unconditional bail until September 15, where he will be sentenced.

  • A MAN from Brighton Hill could be disqualified from driving after he was caught speeding in Alton.

Mark John Dallas, of Chopin Road, was caught driving his Volkswagen Golf on Whitedown Lane at 43 miles per hour on November 17, 2020.

The speed limit on that road is 30 mph.

He admitted the offence at a single justice procedure hearing in June, and the case was also due to be heard on August 12.

But the case was adjourned until Saturday, August 21, so magistrates could consider a disqualification from driving, court documents reveal.

  • A MAN caught driving on the motorway whilst more than triple the drink-drive limit has been banned from holding a licence.

Simon Fogg, of Bennet Close, was behind the wheel of a Seat Ibiza on the M4 on March 31 whilst drunk.

He was spotted driving between junctions 7 and 5, near Slough.

A breath test revealed that he had 118 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, where the legal limit is 35.

The 61-year-old, who admitted the offence in May but was sentenced last week, was banned from driving for 27 months.

He was further fined £80 and given a 12-month community order, in which he will have to complete ten rehabilitation activity days.

Fogg will have to pay £20 in costs and a £95 victim surcharge.

No further action will be taken after he admitted failing to surrender to Slough Magistrates’ Court on May 13 when released on bail.

  • A WARRANT was issued for the arrest of a man accused of having a knife in a public place.

Adie Scott Ali Spencer has been charged with possessing a red-handled kitchen knife in Jefferson Road on June 9.

He was due to appear at court last Wednesday, August 11, but court documents show that a warrant was issued after he failed to answer bail.

The 20-year-old, of Ascension Close, has entered no plea to the charge.

  • A TEENAGER charged with fraud has had his case discontinued by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Ryan May, of Glamis Walk in Hartlepool, was charged with fraud by false representation in Hampshire.

It was alleged that between January 1 and March 31, 2018, he asked a person for money, but gave false reasons for why it was needed.

The 19-year-old intended to make £500 gain from the fraud, the charge stated.

But May’s case was discontinued at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, after the CPS decided to drop charges.

  • A MAN has denied drug driving in Hook.

Marcus Mouzakitis, of Papermill Avenue in Hook, has pleaded not guilty to being under the influence of THC, a breakdown product of cannabis, whilst behind the wheel of a vehicle on London Road.

It is alleged the offence happened on May 19, 2020.

The 32-year-old will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on August 27.
