A BASINGSTOKE nursery is celebrating an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating as it marks its third anniversary.

At the end of the summer term, the team of staff at Old Basing Village Nursery School successfully navigated their first Ofsted inspection and achieved an ‘Outstanding’ grading as a result.

The nursery school, which is open to children aged one to five, was opened three years ago by former primary school teachers Victoria and Andy Grayson.

The report stated how well children achieve and “flourish” at the nursery school which is led by highly qualified and experienced staff and managers.

The report also coincided with the nursery school’s third birthday celebrations.

Owner and manager Victoria said: “We’re delighted with the report and thrilled that the inspector recognised the hard work our staff have put in over the last few years.

“We've felt for some time that we were ready for the visit, having already achieved our platinum Just Quality award in January. Nonetheless, there are still nerves on the day, especially as you only get a day's notice that the inspector is coming.

“The children and staff did us proud!”

As previously reported by the Gazette, the nursery school, which has around 60 children enrolled at its Old Basing Village Hall site, was awarded an Early Years Consultancy’s Just Quality platinum award in January, which it worked towards throughout the pandemic.
