A BASINGSTOKE schoolgirl has been recognised for her flare for creative writing.
Chloe Hancock, who attends The Vyne School, has won the Young Writers' poetry competition.
The 12-year-old's poem will feature in an anthology entitled 'Imagine - Rhymes On Fire.
Chloe said: "I can't believe I've won. I'm very proud. I worked really hard on my poem."
Chloe received the good news in the same week that her younger sister Holly also achieved success in a writing competition for her story inspired by the pandemic.
The Young Writers’ poetry competition has been running since 1991, and this year's challenge was to write a poem inspired by the theme "Imagine".
Poems have been chosen from over 9,000 entries nationwide.

Imagine if my cat could sing
Imagine if dogs could fly
Imagine if people can't die
Imagine if you could see the future
Imagine if there was no sun
Imagine if there was no gravity
Imagine if I wrote a poem with the title 'Imagine if…’
