A RESIDENTIAL street in Winklebury was temporarily blocked after a skip-removal lorry took a turn for the worse.
One resident on Firs Way described seeing the vehicle "lose its balance" as it attempted to clear a Hippo Bag on Friday morning (August 6), a waste disposal sack used as an alternative to a skip.
The bag's contents ended up strewn across the road, along with the waste already piled on the vehicle, leaving the street blocked.
However, the removal driver's colleagues came to the rescue, with a larger lorry showing up shortly after to right the smaller one.
The vehicle belongs to garden waste company TJR Garden Maintenance. Owner Tyler Riley told the Gazette that the incident occured due to a "mechanical failure" and that all health and safety procedures were adhered to.
