A Tadley woman is accused of driving dangerously through Basingstoke whilst drunk.

Alanna Diane Quigley, of Otterbourne Crescent, has been charged with dangerous driving on Aldermaston Road, Churchill Way West, Ringway West and Ringway North.

She is accused of the offences whilst behind the wheel of a Seat on October 20, 2019, and was allegedly more than triple the drink drive limit and without insurance.

Quigley is further accused of assaulting a volunteer police officer on the same day.

The 38-year-old’s case has been adjourned until September 23. No pleas have been entered at this stage.

A man who drove a Range Rover through Basingstoke whilst drunk has been banned from driving and given a hefty fine.

Surinder Verma was caught behind the wheel of the Range Rover Evoque on Charlbury Lane whilst unfit to drive through alcohol on May 23.

An Evoque can be bought new for anything from £30,000.

Verma, of Drayton Gardens in London, had admitted the charge at an earlier hearing in June.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, the 35-year-old was banned from driving for 18 months.

He must also pay a £600 fine, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.

A man has been found not guilty of driving without insurance.

Abdul Sakeb, of Millers Close in Dartford, was accused of being behind the wheel of a Honda Civic at Barton Stacey Services on the westbound A303 on June 9, 2020, when he was uninsured.

The 28-year-old had denied the charge at a hearing in February, and was found not guilty by magistrates on Monday.

The case was dismissed.

A man accused of assault has had his case delayed.

Matt Kaleb Donaldson, of Flaxfield Court, was listed to stand trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He is accused of assaulting a woman in Basingstoke on May 20, 2020, and of driving a blue Audi on West Ham Lane without due care and attention on the same day.

The 29-year-old denied both charges at a hearing last October.

However, court documents reveal that the trial did not go ahead.

He has been released on conditional bail until the next hearing on September 20 at the same court.

A Basingstoke man failed to give a blood sample when he had been stopped by police.

Christopher Leslie Jenner, of Normanton Road, was pulled over and suspected to have been under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.

He was required to provide a blood sample, but failed to do so.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, the 36-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

He was fined £583 and banned from driving for three months.

He was also required to pay costs of £85 and a £58 victim surcharge.

Jenner was also charged with failing to surrender to court having been released on bail, but no separate penalty was given.

A man has been accused of drug driving in Basingstoke.

Todd Benjamin Parker was behind the wheel of a 2013-plate Mercedes when he allegedly had Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine, in his system.

The 30-year-old is said to have been driving on Winchester Road on February 20 when the offence happened.

Parker, of Rectory Place in Weyhill, Andover, has been released on unconditional bail, pending the next hearing on March 9, 2022 at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court.
