THE Met Office has issued a weather warning for torrential rain this weekend in Hampshire.

The yellow warning is in place from midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday for the whole county, as well as other parts of southern England, the midlands, and Wales.

Forecasters say homes and businesses could see flooding, as well as disruption to travel.

The warning comes after a week of high temperatures, with the needle hitting 30C on Tuesday.

The Met Office warning says: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads

"There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."
