THE cast and crew of a new television series being filmed in Basingstoke were photographed arriving at the set yesterday.

All wearing masks, the cast were spotted walking to Mountbatten House in Basing View which is being used as the film set for a “big budget” Apple TV series starring Eva Green and Vincent Cassel.

Apple TV has now confirmed to the Gazette that the filming taking place in Basingstoke is for a series with the working title Brussels being made by Ringside Studios and Leonis Productions starring Vincent Cassel and Eva Green.

Dozens of trailers and lorries are parked up at Lower Basing View Car Park, where just four months ago new Amazon Prime series Citadel, starring Richard Madden was also filmed.

The crew will be shooting scenes in the Grade II listed Mountbatten House viewed as an “innovative example” of late-1970s office architecture.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Last month Apple TV announced it was shooting a new French and English-language series starring Black Swan actor Vincent Cassel and BAFTA award winner Eva Green who was in The Luminaries.

The series is billed as a “high-stakes, contemporary thriller exploring how the mistakes of our past have the potential to destroy our future” combining action with an unpredictable, multi-layered plot where “espionage and political intrigue play out against a story of passionate and enduring love”.

The cast also includes Peter Mullan, Gerard Lanvin, Daniel Francis, Stanislas Merhar, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Laetitia Eido, Eriq Ebouaney, Bukky Bukray, and Thierry Fremont.

The series is directed by Emmy award winner Stephen Hopkins and created and written by Virginie Brac.

Basingstoke has recently become a popular location for filming, with the BBC also choosing the town to film an adaption of Kate Atkinson’s bestselling novel Life After Life.

The crew took over All Saints’ Church, in Southern Road, on June 28 with actors including Thomasin McKenzie, Sian Clifford and James McArdle spotted shooting a wedding scene outside on the street.
