THAMES Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in Aldermaston left two people in hospital last weekend. 

At around 2.20pm on Saturday, July 3, a grey Audi A3 and a black Vauxhall Astra were involved in a head-on collision on the A340 Basingstoke Road, near to the Butt Inn public house.

Both drivers sustained injuries that required hospital treatment.

The driver of the Vauxhall has since been discharged whilst the driver of the Audi remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Investigating officer, PC Samantha Dixon, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are conducting an investigation into this incident and have already spoken to a number of people who saw what happened.

“I would like to appeal to anyone else who saw this collision and has not spoken to us to please get in touch.

“Further, I would appeal to anyone who has a dash-cam and was in the local area around the time of this incident to please check footage in case it has captured something that could help with this investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to make a report online or call 101, quoting reference 1235 3/1.”
