A woman who was involved in the collision suffered minor injuries and firefighters from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were required to extricate the woman from her car.

Dorkin is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court on 4 August.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary told the Gazette: “Officers attempted to stop the black Volkswagen Polo just before 3pm on Sunday (July 4).

“A short pursuit followed before the vehicle drove the wrong way around the roundabout causing a collision with another vehicle.

“Minor injuries were reported and a woman has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“The driver of the Volkswagen Polo decamped and made off from the collision before being located by officers on Euskirchen Walk.”
