RESIDENTS in Basingstoke over the age of 18 can now get their Covid vaccination without an appointment, thanks to NHS England's new 'Grab a Jab' walk-in scheme.

The NHS Covid vaccination programme, the biggest in health service history, has launched a new online service that lets people find their nearest walk-in centre by simply entering their postcode.

The NHS has opened hundreds of sites across the country where anyone aged 18 or over can turn up to get vaccinated without an appointment over the weekend and is encouraging anyone who has not received one to ‘grab a jab’.

The NHS has revealed today (Saturday) when and where in Basingstoke walk-in vaccination will be available next week.

The date, time and location are:

Monday 5 July 2021

  • Jameson House, Basingstoke, RG24 8AG.  9.00am – 5.00pm.  Open to anyone over the age of 18 who needs their first dose.
  • Gillies Health Centre, Basingstoke, RG22 4EH.  9.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 5.00pm.  Open to anyone over the age of 18 who needs their first dose.

Tuesday 6 July 2021

  • Jameson House, Basingstoke, RG24 8AG.  9.00am – 5.00pm.  Open to anyone over the age of 18 who needs their first dose.
  • Shakespeare Road Medical Practice, Basingstoke, RG24 9DT.  2.30pm – 6.30pm.  Open to anyone over the age of 18 who needs their first dose.

People who attend a walk-in clinic for their first dose will have their vaccination record updated online and will then be able to book in their second dose appointment using the national booking system.

The NHS is vaccinating at the rate supplies becomes available in the run up to the July-19 target, as well as having offered second doses to all higher risk groups.
