A MAN will stand trial again later this year accused of rape after a jury were unable to reach a verdict.

Joshua Ayeh-Amanor, of Nelson Road, Edmonton Green, London, stood trial at Winchester Crown Court earlier this month.

It is alleged that in October 2019 he had been on a night out with a woman in Basingstoke and the following morning she woke up to find him on top of her.

After hearing the cases from the prosecution and the defence, members of the jury were sent out to consider their verdicts but were unable to come to an agreement and were discharged.

A new trial date has now been listed for December 6 at Winchester Crown Court.
