A BASINGSTOKE dog owner has denied having an ‘out of control’ pet which is accused of biting a man.
Christopher Moore, of Kiln Farm, Sherborne St John, was allegedly near his home with grey Collie Casper on May 2, last year, when it bit Muhammad Adeel.
The 55-year-old appeared at Winchester Crown Court today (Wednesday) in front of His Honour Judge Robert Pawson.
Moore pleaded not guilty to being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control and whilst so out of control injured a person.
The court was told that Moore’s defence team will be instructing an expert to determine whether Mr Adeel’s injury is “consistent with a dog bite”.
Judge Pawson set a trial for September 6, which is expected to last two to three days at the same court.
Moore was released on bail following the hearing.
