A MAN has been arrested following a sexual assault outside a bank in Basingstoke town centre.
Police were called to the scene on Tuesday, May 25, following reports of a sexual assault that occurred outside Halifax in Wote Street at around 6.25pm, involving a 19-year-old woman.
Officers have since arrested a 49-year-old man from Basingstoke on suspicion of sexual assault.
He has been bailed until June 22, while officers continue to investigate.
Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
