MYSTERY surrounds why police were chasing a car through Brighton Hill yesterday evening.
Residents reported seeing a ‘high-speed chase’ at around 10.30pm, with the police car speeding along Gershwin Road in pursuit of another vehicle.
It was then spotted again along Brighton Way heading towards the Brighton Hill Roundabout.
A motorist who was in the area at the time told the Gazette the vehicles sped along the 30mph Brighton Way at “high-speed”, adding: “When I first saw them they passed me as I headed in the opposite direction, but then they overtook me at the crossing outside Asda after.”
However, Hampshire Constabulary has said it has no information on the incident.
