THREE men arrested in connection with a suspected shotgun discharge in South Ham have been released on police bail, Hampshire constabulary have confirmed.

Hampshire police have revealed that the three men arrested on Westray Close on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, have been released.

Today, Hampshire police spokesperson told the Gazette: “Three people, a 17-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, all from Basingstoke, who were arrested in connection with a suspected shotgun discharge in South Ham, have been released on police bail until June 30. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Armed police swarmed on a house in Oakridge on Westray Close at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon (June 2) to make the arrests and carry out a warrant after an incident at Claythorpe Road in South Ham where a member of the public claimed they heard a shot gun being fired.

Another 17-year-old boy was previously arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill but was released with no further action on Monday (May 31).
