A man has been accused of beating a woman at a Tadley petrol station.

Michael McDonald, of Salters Heath Road in Monk Sherborne, has been charged with assaulting the woman at Esso in Mulfords Hill on December 12, 2020.

The 21-year-old has not entered a plea and will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 7.

A Basingstoke woman has been convicted of assaulting a man twice in one day.

Jurate Jakaite had denied the charges but was found guilty by magistrates after a trial at Aldershot last Friday.

The court heard that the 35-year-old assaulted the man by beating him in Flaxfield Road and Alencon Link.

Jakaite, of Flaxfield Road, has been released on unconditional bail after her case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

She will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 28.

A man caught driving whilst more than three times the drink-drive limit has appeared in court.

Simon Fogg, of Bennet Close, admitted that he was behind the wheel of a Seat Ibiza on the M4 near Slough, between junctions 7 and 5, when over the limit.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court heard last Saturday that he had 118 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - where the legal limit is 35.

The offence took place on March 31, and Fogg also admitted failing to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court in connection with the case.

The 61-year-old was given an interim driving ban after magistrates decided to adjourn the case pending a pre-sentence report.

He must also report to mental health services and will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 30.

A teenager who was allegedly caught speeding on the M3 whilst high on cocaine has appeared in court.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was allegedly behind the wheel of a Ford Focus on the M3 at Basingstoke on December 21, when he did not have insurance or a licence.

The court heard that the Essex resident was allegedly driving above the speed limit of 70 miles per hour, whilst also having cocaine and benzoylecgonine in his blood stream.

The case was adjourned and he will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 4. No pleas have been entered at this stage.

A man has been fined after he damaged a car in Basingstoke last year.

Michael Andrew Snell caused £100 of damage in the incident, which took place at some point between July 15 and 18, 2020.

The 42-year-old had also stood accused of harassing another woman, and denied both charges at a previous hearing in November.

But after the harassment charge was dismissed when the prosecution offered no evidence, Snell changed he plea to guilty on the criminal damage charge.

The man, of Gregory Close in Oakridge, was fined £54, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.

Magistrates did not instruct him to pay compensation as he had already chosen to do that.

A man has been banned from driving after he was caught behind the wheel whilst under the influence of cannabis near Kingsclere last year.

Gary Hugh Leach, of Collingwood Walk in Andover, was driving a Peugeot 206 on the B3051 in Ashford Hill on Christmas Eve when he had THC, a breakdown product of cannabis, in his blood stream.

The 40-year-old was fined £167 and banned from driving for three years.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
