Candidates for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have made their pledges ahead of 'all-out' elections that could change the face of politics in the borough.

54 borough councillors will be elected in May, covering the region's 18 wards.

Ahead of the crucial vote, The Gazette has invited the eight main parties to share to you, the voters, why you should vote for them.

From the Camrose to the economy, and climate to equality, the people you'll be voting for in two weeks time have explained, in their own words, why they want you to vote for them.

On May 6, voters across the borough will be able to vote in three different elections at the same time.

As well as the all-out borough council elections, where residents will get three votes in their ward, Hampshire County Council will also be holding elections.

The ten divisions that cover the borough will be re-elected at the same time as the borough elections.

Meanwhile, the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner will also be elected.
