The first phase of a major development in Hounsome Fields in Trenchard Lane, Dummer will begin with construction of 143 residential units, a public notice advertisement has revealed.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has advertised for the construction of 143 residential units, which consists of a mix of semi-detached and terraced dwelling and flats.

Along with the houses, the developers have advertised to build car parking facilities and garages, internal access roads, footpaths, parking and circulation areas, footpath links and informal paths, public open space/amenity space, hard and soft landscaping, and other infrastructure and engineering works.

The Hounsome Fields project envisages building 750 homes opposite Basingstoke Golf Club. The 143-unit work will be the first phase of the major project.

Although it had received the outline planning permission in September 2017, the development works were delayed last year whilst a licence to fell trees was sought.

According to developers Linden Homes, the plan is to build a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.

The applications and plans are available for public inspection at www.basingstoke.gov.uk.
