This is the incredible moment drivers got out of their cars to clear the pathway for an ambulance en route to an emergency.

The quick-thinking motorists could tell the emergency service vehicle was struggling to get through due to roadworks and got to action.

In a video clip, posted to social media platforms TikTok and Facebook, passengers at least six drivers can be seen clearing the obstructed carriageway of cones and signs.

The ambulance driver, Kia, caught the heartwarming moment on camera and her brother shared it to his Facebook page, writing: "As some of you know, my big sister Kia is an ambulance driver.

"This clip was taken on a 999 call in Bracknell. Doesn't it restore your faith in humanity?"

Viewers clearly agreed with the video receiving 3.4million likes on TikTok and generating 25,600 comments from users all over the world.

Someone wrote: "Wow, this is actually amazing. Like to see there are still some nice people in the world." 

While another, in a apparent dig towards their home country, said: "Tell me you don't live US without telling me you don't like in the US." 

The short clip, accompanied by the tear-jerking Edith Whispers' cover of Home, seemed to strike a cord with American viewers. 

One said: "I was about to be proud of US civillians and then I saw the licence plates."

Others said the moment had left them in tears, with a TikTok user writing: "This is so beautiful, I'm crying." 

Another simply wrote: "The term 'restoring faith in humanity' is such a cliche but this really made me feel something special for these people."
