FIREFIGHTERS were called to the scene of 'deliberate' fires at a disused building in Houndmills yesterday afternoon (Thursday, April 15).
Basingstoke crews were called to the incident on Pelton Road at around 3.25pm.
Posting on twitter, the on-call team wrote: "Crews mobilised to a fire in the open in #Houndmills. Multiple deliberate fires, out on arrival. This turned out to be inside a disused building. PPV used for smoke clearance."

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service added: "Basingstoke crews were called at 15:25 yesterday (15 Apr) afternoon to a fire within a derelict building on Pelton Road, Basingstoke.
"A small fire was out on arrival and crews used tactical ventilation fans to clear the smoke. Firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 16:06."
