A NEW ‘zero waste’ shop has opened this week, offering Basingstoke residents an eco-friendly way to stock up on essentials.

Naked Refills is a new refills store at Granary Court, South Warnborough which opened on Monday, April 12.

It offers a range of herbs, spices, beans, baking ingredients, pasta, seasonings, snacks, nuts and seeds, as well as a huge range of vegan sweets and chocolate.

However, unlike ordinary supermarkets, there is no single use plastic in sight.

Owners Millie and Natalie said: “We are delighted to offer a superb range of refill products which we have sourced with care, to offer great quality products at reasonable prices.

“All of the products are vegan friendly and cruelty-free, which is central to our ethos, and help our customers achieve a more eco-friendly, plastic-free lifestyle.

“We also have a vegan sweet range - our salted caramel fudge is out of this world!”

Customers can visit the store in person, order online and choose Click & Collect, or arrange delivery.

Due to the current environment and coronavirus safety measure, and unlike other zero waste stores, the team at Naked Refills will weigh and pack chosen refills in either paper bags, so that you can decant at home, or in your chosen container if you prefer. This is to avoid multiple hands touching the jars in store.

The shop also stocks a range of pre-packaged food, household and personal product, from organic chopped tomatoes to vegan hot chocolate; lavender laundry powder to eco laundry eggs; and bamboo toothbrushes to coconut cleaning pads.

The shop is currently open from 10am each day, except Wednesday and Fridays when it is closed.
