CLOTHES, shoes, make-up, hair accessories and endless bargains.

There are many reasons why Basingstoke shoppers hold Primark in high regard.

And after a three-month hiatus, The Malls' branch of the chain will be reopening its doors on Monday.

But store chiefs are warning it will not be business as usual.

With the pandemic still ongoing, staff will be adhering to strict guidelines to ensure customers are safe.

Here is everything you can expect.

Which stores are re-opening?

In line with government guidelines, our stores in England and Wales will re-open on April 12th.  The Basingstoke store will be open on April 12th 8am until 8pm.

What measures have Primark stores implemented for Customer Safety?

Safety measures include:

  • Limits on the number of customers allowed in store at any one time to allow for the appropriate distance in between customers and employees, following local government guidelines.
  • Clear signage and floor decals, as well as dedicated employees and additional security staff, to guide customers through the store in a way that limits contact with others.
  • All customers and employees are required to wear face coverings in stores, unless they are exempt due to medical reasons.
  • On entering the store, customers are asked to use the hand sanitiser that is provided at the store entrance. Dedicated employees will be on hand to assist customers if needed.
  • Perspex screens or cubicles have been installed on tills to help protect customers and employees.
  • Increased frequency and rigour of store cleaning, particularly around high frequency touchpoints such as tills, escalators, lifts, and employee areas in back of house.
  • Customer basket handles will be sanitised on a regular basis.

Will the fitting rooms open?

No, fitting rooms will remain temporarily closed.

What payment methods will Primark have in place?

The store will be encouraging card payments and contactless when possible to minimise cash interactions.
