The Basingstoke Gazette has opened this online book of condolence to collect tributes to Prince Philip, who passed away at the age of 99.

THE Duke of Edinburgh has visited Basingstoke many times over the years before officially retiring from public engagements in 2017.

He was the longest-serving consort in British history and was married to the Queen for more than 70 years, dedicating decades of his life to royal duty.

If would like to share a memory of Prince Philip, or would simply like to pay your respects, please leave your message here.

Your tribute to Prince PhilipPrince Philip.. What a amazing gentleman.. and a excellent Father and Grandfather and a wonderful consort to the Queen of England. I admire him he was always there for her and was always behind her and by her side in everything she did for the public and the commonwealth. I met the Prince and the Queen at the Garden Party when I was 18 a long time ago.... sadly no photograph. You will be sadly missed by the World and your family GOD BLESS PRINCE PHILIP.

There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” | Revelation 21:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” | Matthew 5:4
