A teenager from Basingstoke has admitted assaulting a police officer.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to assaulting the officer in Popley earlier in March.

Just three days later, he was found in possession of cannabis, and also damaged a police cell at Basingstoke Police Investigation Centre.

Appearing at Basingstoke Youth Court last Friday, he was given a youth rehabilitation order, which will see him attend appointments with the probation team over the course of the next six months.

The cannabis was forfeited and destroyed.

A man from London has been banned from driving after he was caught behind the while whilst under the influence of ketamine.

Christopher Stuart Westley, of Queens Avenue in Feltham, was driving his Audi A3 on the M3 between junctions 7 and 6 in October 2020 when he was almost eight times over the legal limit.

Magistrates banned him from driving for a year when the 32-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

He was further fined £120, whilst also being ordered to pay costs of £45 and a victim surcharge of £34.

A man has been fined after he was found driving with no insurance.

Daniel James Donovan, of Worting Road, was caught behind the wheel of a Honda Civic in Newnham in February, when there was no insurance in place.

The 48-year-old also admitted being in possession of cannabis.

Donovan was fined a total of £550 and had six points put on his licence by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Friday.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £55 and costs of £85.

A man who failed to provide a blood specimen after being suspected of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs has been banned from driving.

Ramazan Shala, of Dorset Street in Reading, was asked to provide a blood sample at Basingstoke hospital on December 3, 2020, but admitted failing to do so.

The 40-year-old was banned from driving for 20 months, and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.

He was further ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £95.

A man has been fined and disqualified from driving after he was caught drink driving in February.

Gabriel Gradinariu, of Silver Hill in Sandhurst, was found driving on the A339 whilst he had 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35.

The 27-year-old was fined £576 and disqualified from driving for 18 months.

He was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £58 and costs of £85.

A man from London has been fined after driving at nearly 90 miles per hour on the A303.

Daniel Frederick Morris, of Percival Road in Feltham, was caught driving his Ford at 87 mph near Popham in September 2020.

The 41-year-old was fined £115, given three points on his licence, and ordered to pay total costs of £124.
