THE case of a Basingstoke man accused of having an 'out of control' dog which attacked two women and a service dog has been postponed until July.
Martin Christopher Sydney Pye, of Bach Close, was allegedly at Brighton Hill Sports Pavillion on Gershwin Road on September 1 with a brindle and white bull dog named Ruby.
The dog reportedly injured a woman, and a black Labrador assistance dog.
Less than a fortnight later on September 10, a further incident was reported in which the bull dog injured a woman on Hatch Warren Way.
In total, the 48-year-old has been charged with three counts of being the owner of a dog which was 'dangerously out of control' under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
He was due to appear at Winchester Crown Court yesterday (March 31) to enter a plea, however the court heard that he mistakenly attended the wrong venue.
Recorder Adam Feest QC postponed the case until July 30 for pre-plea reports to be generated.
The judge also instructed Giles Morrison, defending, to ensure Mr Pye confirms knowledge of the new date by April 16.
