FOOTBALL matches, ice hockey games, family meals out and holidays.

All these things were a part of our every day lives just over a year ago, before a national health crisis was declared changing life as we knew it forever.

To mark one year since the first lockdown was introduced, this week we asked our readers to share the last ‘normal’ photographs they took before the world was turned upside down.

And we were blown away by the response. To see the full array of images shared.

Xena Bridges shared a photo from the Old Trafford stadium just before lockdown when she went to watch her favourite club, saying: “Mine was going to Old Trafford on March 8 2020 Manchester United vs Manchester City the last Premier League game before first lockdown came., [I] Can’t wait for someday when football can start again, I think everyone took things for granted so when we are able to do things again we will enjoy every single of it.”

Caroline Kelly posted a photo from the ice rink, with the caption: “A live ice hockey match Bison v Swindon Wildcats. Been watching the Spring Cup live streams but it’s not the same as watching a live game in a packed ice rink.”

While Stacey Cox shared a photo from her 30th birthday party, saying: “Literally the weekend before lockdown!! Got to see all my friends and family so it was lovely!”

The past one year has been difficult for many. But hopefully, as we slowly move towards life after pandemic, let’s hope the world will be as beautiful as it used to be – sports with fans, fun-filled birthday parties and most of all ‘a normal’ one.
