MOST of the areas in and around Basingstoke have reported fewer than three Covid cases in the week leading to March 16, latest figures have revealed.

An interactive government map shows 13 of 22 locations near Basingstoke have fewer than three cases, while nine areas each have reported more than three cases.

With six new cases, Tadley West has the highest rolling rate (81.8) in Basingstoke, while Viables, Hatch Warren, South Ham & West Ham and Popley have all reported four new cases each.

Kings Furlong, Chineham, and Bramley, Sherfield & the Sherbornes have seen three new cases each over the same period.

Rolling date is the seven-day total number of Covid cases per 100,000 people in the area.

An interactive map on the government website shows just how many people have tested positive for the virus in each area of the county over the seven-day period up to Tuesday, March 16.

The map allows users to type in their postcode and see how many cases were reported in their area and if it has increased or decreased from the week before. The darker the colour on the image, the more positive test results have been recorded.

The map highlights which areas of the nation have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.

The map is split up into Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs), which are generally smaller than council wards and are based on population, rather than geographical area.
