A POPULAR family festival held annually in Basingstoke is set to return this year after being cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic.
The organisers of the Festival of Transport have announced that the event will be taking place on Sunday, August 22 in War Memorial Park.
Organised by Basingstoke Deane Rotary, the festival is usually held in May but has been moved to August this year when lockdown restrictions will hopefully have been relaxed.
The event, which has become one of the largest of its type in the South of England, will feature around 1,000 vehicles including commercial Thornycroft vehicles.
It is usually attended by more than 20,000 people.
Rod Clarke, from Basingstoke Deane Rotary, said: “With such a large number of assorted vehicles, autojumble, trade stalls and refreshments all day, with fun and games for the kids makes this event a great day out for all the family.”
