DRIVERS will face diversion and delays in areas near Basingstoke over this month due to various roadworks.

Across Basingstoke roads are about to be repaired, potholes patched up and water and electric works carried out.

Here’s a round-up of what to expect on the roads in and around Basingstoke from Saturday, March 13, to Wednesday, March 31.

Wolverton Road, Kingsclere

March 22-25

Carriageway Resurfacing and Lining Works – starting on March 22 and expected to last for up to four days.

During these works the road will be closed to through traffic, from approximately 7.30am-6pm each day. A signed diversions will be in place, and the road will be open outside of these hours.

Bartholomew Street, Newbury

March 9-April 9

Bartholomew Street, Newbury will be closed from the 9th March – 9th April 2021, between the junction with Market Street and Mansion House Street. This closure is to enable Volker Highways to carryout highway improvements on behalf of West Berkshire Council.

London Road, Hook

March 21-26

Road closure due to carriageway resurfacing.

New Road/Rowan Road Roundabout to Winston Avenue

March 24-31

Hampshire County Council will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on Tadley Hill, from the New Road/Rowan Road Roundabout to Winston Avenue.

The work are programmed to start on March 24 and are expected to last for up to seven nights (including Saturday and Sunday), during which time the road will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 8pm-6am each night. The road will be open outside of these hours.

Gershwin Road, Brighton Hill

March 17-22

Carriageway resurfacing works on Gershwin Road, Brighton Hill from Byrd Gardens to Ellington Drive have now been re-programmed and will be carried out from March 17 for three nights.

During these works Gershwin Road will be closed to through traffic from approximately 8pm–6am. The road will be open outside of these hours.
