B&M has announced the date it will open a brand new store in Basingstoke.

Builders have been at the site of the former Mothercare in Hatch Warren for the last few weeks transforming it into a new shop.

And now the retailer has revealed to The Gazette they will be opening their doors for the first time on Saturday, March 27.

The move will create more than 40 jobs for Basingstoke. 

In a statement, they said: "We are thrilled to announce the launch of its brand new store in Kempshott, the new store will create more than 40 jobs for local people."

The discount retailer has taken possession of the former Mothercare store and will undergo a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 9am on Saturday, March 27.

The spokesman said: "Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, baby food and pet food.

"There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore."

A spokesperson from B&M added: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people during these difficult times and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
