Police investigating the collision of a school bus with a railway bridge have charged a man who will appear before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
Three children required surgery for “potentially life-changing injuries” after a double-decker school bus crashed into the bridge in Winchester last September.
The bus had been taking children aged 11 to 16 to Henry Beaufort School in the Hampshire city when the incident occurred.
Another 12 children were treated for minor injuries at the scene and 57 were unhurt.
Hampshire Police announced on Thursday, February 11, that Martin Robert Walker, 36, of Burke Drive in Southampton, has been charged with three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Walker is due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 6.
Photographs showed the roof of the vehicle was torn off by the crash in September last year.
