NHS is now encouraging people aged 65 or over to book their vaccine if they have not received a call from the authorities yet.

You can also contact NHS if you have previously received a letter saying you are at high risk from coronavirus, and have not yet been contacted from the vaccination team.

People are advised to either register for vaccination in the NHS website, or call 119, or contact their GP.

The decision comes amidst reports that England has administered more than 14 million Covid vaccines since the roll-out began.

It also takes England within touching distance of its target of getting at least one Covid dose to 15 million people in the top priority groups — over-70s, NHS workers, care home residents and staff and severely ill adults — by Monday.

Once over-65s have been invited, they will then be followed by all those over 16 with underlying health conditions, the over-60s, the over-55s and then the over-50s.

The government is aiming to offer a vaccine to all those first nine priority groups by May.
