A BASINGSTOKE man who died after a crash on the A303 has been identified.
Andrew Shanahan, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene near Shipton Bellinger, an inquest opening heard.
He was driving a black Volkswagen Scirocco at the time of the collision, involving a white Volkswagen Luton van and an unidentified third vehicle.
Mr Shanahan lived in Churchill Way. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist police officers.
According to pathologist Dr Belvinda Shoker, the cause of death was multiple injuries caused by the road traffic collision.
The full inquest will be heard in Winchester on November 15.
Hampshire Constabulary is still appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on January 28, which happened at around 7.33am.
