ANOTHER 75,000 coronavirus vaccines have been administered across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in the last week.

A total of 303,203 jabs have been given across the counties, making it the fifth highest region for vaccine delivery nationally.

This includes 92.7 per cent of all over 80s being given their first dose - one of the highest rates nationally.

Additionally, just over 86 per cent of people aged 75-79 have received the first dose of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/Astra Zeneca jabs, with a little under 20 per cent of those aged between the ages of 70 and 74.

The data relates to the period to January 31, 2021.

The government has set itself a target to vaccinate everyone in the first four priority groups - which is care home residents and workers, the clinically extremely vulnerable and people aged over 70 or over.

In total, 75,804 vaccines were given in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in the last week - which is 25 per cent higher than the previous week's total.

In North and Mid Hampshire, there are currently eight facilities giving Covid jabs.

The regions three hospitals - Basingstoke and North Hampshire, Andover War Memorial and Royal Hampshire County - are all hospital vaccination hubs, whilst Basingstoke Fire Station is a vaccination centre.

Additionally, Basingstoke's Hampshire Court Hotel, Andover's The Lights theatre and Winchester's Holiday Inn are all local vaccine services, being operated by primary care networks.

A Superdrug pharmacy in Basingstoke is also being utilised.
