THE best and worst places to live in Basingstoke according to our readers can now be revealed.

In a poll last week hundreds of you had your say.

The results might come as a bit of a surprise.

A whopping 30 per cent of people say the North Basingstoke area is the best place to live.

Readers think Tadley, Bramley, Sherfield, the Sherbornes and Chineham rank top of the property list.

But second, third, fourth and fifth place were close with only a handful of votes between each place.

Coming in second with 19 per cent is Central Basingstoke with areas such as Black Dam, Eastrop, Kings Furlong, Viables South Ham and West Ham.

A close third place was taken by South Basingstoke with The Candovers, Cliddesden and Upton Grey stealing 18 per cent of the vote.

West Basingstoke took fourth place with 17 per cent of readers voting for areas Overton, North Waltham, Kingsclere, Burghclere and Bishops Green.

Daneshill, Little Basing and Old Basing failed to rank high with East Basingstoke taking just 16 per cent of the vote, making it the least desirable area to live in according to readers.
