A NEW housing development is set to come to Hartley Wintney.

Stratfield Homes has announced that it has unconditionally acquired the former Travis Perkins depot on London Road, and intend to redevelop it.

The developer intends to deliver "a traditional courtyard development within the heart of the village".

It intend to submit a planning application this year, after consultation with the community.

It comes after the developer, which is based in the village, completed its first development of Claybourne Gardens in Ottershaw, Surrey.

Paul Cooper, managing director of Stratfield Homes, said: “We are delighted to have secured our second site.

"We are really passionate about delivering high quality homes that meet the need of the local market and having just successfully completed our first residential development, this is perfect timing as we look to continue apace in 2021.

"The feedback we have had from customers so far has been immensely positive – with the quality and design of our homes proving a major draw for many of our purchases – a trend we aim to continue.

"Based locally, as a team we all know the site in Hartley Wintney well and we have some exciting plans, which we hope to take forward this year.”

Whilst the number of homes planned for the Hartley Wintney site has not been revealed, Stratfield says it looks for sites that can accommodate between five and 20 homes.

It calls itself a "niche developer, which takes pride in being appropriate to the communities within which it builds".
