BASINGSTOKE wedding and lifestyle photographer Anna Mikulich has created an adorable bedroom in Christmas theme for her kitten Finn.
It took almost a week to complete the bedroom, but Anna said she is happy with the project as it is spreading smiles and happiness during this “grim year”.
In the photographs shared, Finn is seen lying on a comfy bed, reading ‘Meowzette’, the cat’s version of The Gazette.
“The idea of a cat's house pictures came at random, like many other ideas in our house,” Anna said.
“It all started with a purchase of a cat’s sofa (yes, these days you can buy anything for dogs and cats) which has not arrived yet.
“While we were thinking where we would put this sofa, we came up with an idea of a cat's corner which eventually become a 'cat's house project’, with lights, picture rails, wallpaper, and skirting included.
“Yes, by now - you may say we have been carried away a bit.
“Meanwhile, just for that picture we have decided to make our own DIY cat's bed - it took us a hobby board from Wickes for £18 and two hours of cutting and putting things together - we had zero experience and it is a very sloppy job from rough sketch to a final item. Then we put it all into the IKEA shelving unit, and it took us a few evenings to finish decorating it.”
Having grown up in Belarus, Anna has been living in Basingstoke for 12 years and working as a photographer.
But, year 2020 brought lots of changes in photography industry as it has been a quiet year for weddings.
Anna, 35, said she had a lot of free time because of the Covid-19 restrictions.
“If there is such thing as a free time, having two boys aged 5 and 9 and a husband – they can easily consume all of my time. But I decided to start an Instagram account for our kitten Finn - golden.cheeks.cat – where I could share all his lovely photos and cute videos!
“I love watching kids and kittens grow as you can not only see the changes they are coming through but be a part of those changes - this is just great!”
