A Basingstoke man has admitted assaulting a police officer.

Lewis Daniel Hall, of Bardwell Close, Buckskin, pleaded guilty last week to the assault of PC Kerry Lawrence in Basingstoke on September 16.

Hall has also denied assaulting two men in Basingstoke on March 21.

The 33-year-old has been released on conditional bail until the trial, which will take place at Aldershot Magistrates' Court on June 16, 2021.

A woman who was caught driving whilst under the influence of drugs has been temporarily banned from driving.

Sarah Lita Morgan, of Staverton Road in Reading, was caught driving her Toyota Aygo on the A33 in Basingstoke whilst under the influence of cannabis.

The 46-year-old was found to have 5.5 micrograms of cannabis in her blood, which exceeded the legal limit of 2.

After pleading guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last week, she has been handed an interim disqualification whilst the case is dealt with.

She must attend a second hearing on May 12, 2021, and has been released on unconditional bail.

Two women who stole from an H&M store in Basingstoke have had their cases adjourned because their solicitor is self-isolating.

Shelly-Ann McDonald-Francis, of Waylaerd Road in London, and Stacey Kerry Archibald, of Quorn Road in Camberwell, are accused of the theft of the items to an unknown value from the Festival Place store on September 26.

The case was adjourned at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last week, with court documents revealing the reason listed as the defence self-isolating.

It is due to be reconvened on January 26, 2021, and no pleas have been entered by the two women, aged 34 and 36 respectively.

A man from Hook accused of assaulting three police officers has had his case delayed.

Daniel Jacobs, of Cresswell, is charged with the assault of PC Laura Monday, PC Jason Crabb and Officer Peter Scamell on two separate days in February.

The 33-year-old is also accused of the racially aggravated harassment of Iuliana Clark on February 28 in Basingstoke.

The Gazette previously reported in October how Jacobs' case had been adjourned pending a psychiatric report.

But the case has again been delayed whilst the report is prepared.

He has been released on conditional bail, and is due to reappear at court on January 14, 2021.

A Buckskin teenager has been disqualified from driving and given a hefty fine after he was caught driving without a licence and insurance.

Craig Todd, of Buckskin Lane, was caught behind the wheel of his white Volkswagen on Old Common Road on July 27.

He admitted that he did not have a driving licence or insurance on the vehicle.

The 19-year-old was given a £368 fine and banned from driving for six months, due to repeat offending.

He was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £37, as well as costs of £85.

Court documents reveal that Todd was also charged with driving whilst disqualified, although this offence was withdrawn in court last week.
