HOLLYWOOD superstar Tom Hardy might be best known for playing the bad guy, but the actor was friendly to one fan when he was spotted shopping in a supermarket.

The 43-year-old Peaky Blinders actor was snapped by a fan who saw him inside Tesco in Hook at 4pm on Thursday, and he appeared happy to pose for a socially distanced selfie.

Lucky Adie and Seimone Kelly noticed the actor as he was leaving the supermarket with a friend, wearing a facemask, as they were walking from the self-service checkout.

Father-of-four Adie, from Hook, said: “Me and my wife were shopping, and I saw this guy looking my way and it was his eyes that I recognised. He had a cap and mask on, and I said to my wife ‘I recognise him from somewhere’.

“It wasn’t until he spoke to his mate that I knew for sure it was Tom Hardy.”

Adie, a landscape gardener, took the opportunity to ask Tom for a picture, and he was happy to oblige, smiling for the selfie outside the store.

“He said that’s fine but that we would have to keep our distance,” explained Adie.

The 42-year-old said no one else appeared to have noticed, and Tom made a speedy exit.

“He obviously wanted to get away before anyone else figured out who he was,” said Adie.

“My wife was a bit star struck, but she got a smile from him.”

Tom, who is rumoured to be taking over the role of James Bond, relocated from London to the countryside several years ago with his wife and two children.

He’s recently been spotted in Guildford, where he was also happy to have pictures taken with fans.
