IT MAY only be November, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Basingstoke as decorations go up across the town.
In between the Malls and Festival Place a Christmas the Christmas tree has arrived along with two German style market stalls where you can grab some sweet or savoury festive treats.
Snow windows have sprung up around the top of town with festive pictures of snowmen, families ice skating and reindeer.
The Malls and Festival Place have also decorated festively with their own Christmas light displays.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Borough Development and Improvement, Cllr Rebecca Bean said: “Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is working to support businesses at the Top of the Town and to encourage shoppers to return safely to the town centre, when the current national restrictions come to an end.
“The council has erected Christmas lights in Winchester Street, Wote Street, Church Street and Cross Street and is currently investigating putting lights in London Street, as gas works are currently taking place which block the road for access.”
