A burst water pipe has left parts of Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Holbury, Marchwood and Calshot without water.

Southern Water is said to be "working quickly" to repair the pipe and have offered to deliver bottled water to vulnerable customers.

At 9.26 this morning (30th Oct) Southern Water tweeted that they were dealing with "a technical issue" on a water main in the village of Rownhams.

Update: Marchwood and Calshot are also said to be affected by the water shortage.

Southern Water said the problem is due to a valve on the water main which is "stuck in the shut position."

Repair work continues.

Update:

At 7.47pm Southern Water tweeted that people in the SO45 area who are still without water can collect bottled water from Gang Warily Community Centre, Newlands Road SO45 1ER.
