A man had to be taken to hospital after being pushed to the floor and robbed of his iPhone.

On October 8, at around 9.55pm, a man, who police say is in his 20s, was walking along Dutton Street in Accrington when he was approached from behind by another man.

He was pushed to the ground, where he cut his head, before being searched and robbed of his iPhone6+.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The man pushed the victim to the ground, causing him to cut his head, before the attacker searched his pockets and stole an iPhone 6+ before making off from the scene.

"The victim was later taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment."

Police now want help in identifying the man in the CCTV image as they believe he is connected to the robbery.

PC Callum Small, of Lancashire Police, said: “Following CCTV enquiries, we would like to speak to this man, pictured, in connection with the incident.

"We know someone will recognise this man and I would urge anyone who can assist our enquiries to come forward.

“This was a serious offence which has left the victim needing hospital treatment. If you can help us get in touch.”
