A MOTORIST who failed to stop at the scene of three accidents has been served with a driving ban.

Jamie Clowes was involved in three road traffic collisions – and failed to stop on each occasion.

The 34-year-old, from Wantage Place in Basingstoke, has now been disqualified from driving for 48 months.

He appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to a number of driving offences when he was behind the wheel of a BMW X5 and Mitsubishi Colt.

On October 11, 2019, Clowes failed to stop after he crashed into three cars on Abbey Road while over the limit.

His BMW X5 smashed into a Volvo, a Nissan and Jaguar.

The court heard how the uninsured driver was nearly double above the legal drink driving limit and was found with 50 micogrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Just months later on February 11, 2020, Clowes was driving in Kingsclere went he was involved in another accident – this time on the A339. Despite the other car receiving damage, uninsured Clowes failed to stop.

And on March 12, 2020, he pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on Heath Way and Jasmine Road. He caused damage to a Nissan Micra and failed to stop at the scene.

The repeat offender pleaded guilty to all the offences as magistrates served him with a four-year driving ban. He is also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
