A NEW escape room and virtual reality experience will be opening in Basingstoke next week.

Escape Hunt will launch its newest venue in Festival Place on October 29 with a VIP day, after which it will open to the public.

Customers can choose from three escape rooms or three virtual reality experiences, with themes including Aladdin, Britain at war, and a horrifying Halloween game.

The games take up to 60 minutes, open for teams from two to six players.

The global immersive entertainment experience brand already has venues in 27 countries around the world and is described as a “truly adrenaline fuelled experience”.

Players step into new worlds and across time to solve puzzles and mysteries to complete a mission in a race against the clock.

One of the company’s most popular escape room games – Alice in Puzzleland – will be at the Basingstoke venue, based on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.

Players step into a wonderland where the Mad Hatter has been accused of stealing the Queen’s tarts, and they are tasked with finding them within 60 minutes.

After playing the game, customers can enjoy a drink in Escape Hunt’s bar.

Richard Harpham, CEO at Escape Hunt, said: “We’re excited to be bringing our five-star rated entertainment offering to Festival Place in Basingstoke. With a growing number of locations across the UK, we’re confident visitors to the centre will love stepping into new worlds and playing our immersive adventures.”

Neil Churchill, centre director of Festival Place, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Escape Hunt to Festival Place.

“Our customers’ experience is hugely important to us. We pride ourselves on being a genuine destination for people to come and not just shop, but eat, drink and have fun with friends and family. Escape Hunt adds to our growing list of activities we offer for people to spend their hard-earned leisure time.”
