South Western Railways has warned commuters to expect delays after receiving reports that a person has been struck by a train between Farnborough Main and Basingstoke.

The company said that "all lines are blocked" due to the incident, with response teams working with the emergency services to assist with the incident.

In order to allow emergency services access to the railway all power to the track will be switched off near the scene.

Posting on Twiter, SWR said that train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

They said to expect disruption until 9pm this evening (October 13).

They added: "For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
